Meet The Band
The Moore Junction Band is a five-piece band bringing Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Country, Funk, and more.
Eric Brown
Vocals & Lead Guitar
Eric started playing guitar when he was very young. He took lessons for many years from Spartanburg legend Joe Bennett. He also had vocal lessons. He began playing in bands around the age of 15 and has been a member of several prominent bands over the years, including Shatter Act and The Daily News. He has written several songs and enjoys playing all types of music and performing live on stage.
Linda Conner
Vocals & Rhythm Guitar
Linda discovered her love for music during her teenage years, nurtured by days spent with her dad who introduced her to the legends of country music like Reba, Dolly and Johnny Cash. With country and southern rock significantly influencing her, she was fortunate to take guitar lessons from two local legends, Joe Bennett and Ron Radford. Her musical journey is diverse, from writing children’s songs to participating with several praise bands, jams, and now MJB. While guitar was her first love, Linda was also fascinated with drums. Later in life she pursued that interest by taking drum lessons from Paul Riddle learning enough to hold down a solid beat. Still, the guitar remains her true calling. She enjoys bringing a variety of covers to the stage with rhythm guitar and vocals alongside their talented musicians, but never forgetting where it all began. Many jams by the campfire or just in a circle with good friends playing music. Playing gigs with MJB is more than just a gig, it’s the best time, a journey she feels blessed to be a part of and what’s better than playing music with great friends.
Tim Fowler
Bass Player
Tim’s muscial journey began during middle school, where he initially honed his skills as a drummer. His early performances include engagements at dances, pageants, and local venues. In the early 70’s, Tim toured as a drummer with his father’s southern gospel group. Following a hiatus to focus on raising a family, Tim returned to music, this time showcasing his talent on the bass guitar with a traveling gospel ensemble. Over the years, he has contributed his musical prowess to various churches, alternating between bass and drums. Additionally, Tim lent his bass vocals to a traveling quartet for numerous years. Presently, he serves his home church as a drummer and bassist when needed, while actively performing with the Moore Junction Band.
Walker Welch
Drummer and Vocals
Walker, a Virginia native (he and his wife, Elizabeth now call South Carolina home) is a 50 year veteran. His experience ranges from Christian contemporary to heavy metal. He has performed with United Vibration, Phoenix, History, while spending most of his time with his brothers performing with Nick DeLoog and Black Star. He enjoys playing with the worship team at Duncan First Baptist as well as the current opportunity to perform with The Moore Junction Band.
Terry Collins
Key Board Player
Terry was a two-sport athlete in high school when a teammate invited him to join his band. Although Terry didn't play an instrument at the time, his teammate's sister offered to teach him, marking the start of his musical journey. His first band was called Friends. Over the years, Terry has jammed with all the members of the original Marshall Tucker Band and performed with the Southern Rock Allstars, a group featuring members of Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot. He is also a former member of US MALE and has played a solo alongside world-renowned recording artist Bonnie Bramlett.
Terry has been part of bands like Silver Travis and performed at events such as Cotton Owens Appreciation Day. He also played with the George Hatcher Band, opening for 38 Special, and headlined with acts like Nantucket and the Artimus Pyle Band, among others.
Tony
“Buckwheat” Blackwell
Sound Tech
Tony "Buckwheat" Blackwell began his career at the Andiron, where he worked as a DJ, bouncer, and backup bartender. During this time, he was approached by the band Whiskey Fever to run lights for their shows, a role he held for four years. The band later became Lindy and the Nighthowler, with Tony continuing to work with them for another three years. He was then invited to join The Spontanes and later Harley Hog and the Rockers. While performing in Nashville, Tony found himself managing lights, spotlighting, and sound after the crew's sound technician quit. It was during this time that he first met Charlie Daniels, who offered him a memorable compliment.
Tony later transitioned to a house gig at Snickers in Gaffney, where he had the opportunity to mix for notable acts such as Wet Willie, Mothers Finest, and the Dixie All-Stars (featuring members from Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot). After five years, he went on the road with the Marshall Tucker Band, spending 11.5 years with them. Following his time with Marshall Tucker, Tony worked with blues artist Scot Weis in Pennsylvania before returning to Spartanburg. There, he began mixing for Silver Travis, a role he's held for nearly a decade, and is now also working with the Moore Junction Band.
